UP Government Shakes Up Administration: Key IAS Officers Reassigned in Surprise Late-Night Move

 National News:The Uttar Pradesh government transferred 33 IAS officers late night in a major administrative reshuffle. In this reshuffle, new responsibilities have been assigned to DMs, Divisional Commissioners, Municipal Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Special Secretary level officers of many districts. The special thing is that important changes have been made in the top postings related to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's parliamentary constituency Varanasi and the capital Lucknow.

Varanasi gets new leadership

Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Chief Minister. At the same time, S. Rajlingam, who was the DM of Varanasi till now, has been promoted and made Commissioner Varanasi. Satyendra Kumar, posted as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Varanasi.

Big change in the Information Department

Shishir, who was the Director of the Information and Culture Department for about seven years, has been removed and made the Special Secretary of the MSME and Export Promotion Department. In his place, Vishal Singh, who was the DM of Bhadohi, has now been given the responsibility of the Information Department.

DMs of 12 districts changed

The government also transferred the District Magistrates of 12 districts in the same order. These include many important districts:

Hapur: Abhishek Pandey

Bareilly: Avinash Singh (formerly Ambedkarnagar DM)

Azamgarh: Ravindra Kumar-2 (transferred from Bareilly)

Ambedkarnagar: Anupam Shukla

Gazipur: Avinash Kumar (formerly Jhansi DM)

Jhansi: Mridul Chaudhary (formerly Mahoba DM)

Mahoba: Gazal Bhardwaj

Kushinagar: Mahendra Singh Tanwar (formerly Sant Kabirnagar DM)

Sant Kabir Nagar: Alok Kumar

Changes in Lucknow Municipal Corporation

Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh has been removed and made Special Secretary in the Energy Department. In his place, Prayagraj CDO Gaurav Kumar has been appointed Lucknow Municipal Commissioner.

Reshuffle at Principal Secretary level

The responsibility of the Transport Department has now been handed over to Amit Gupta. He is already the Principal Secretary Stamp and Registration and will now also look after the additional charge of Transport. Transport Department has been taken back from L. Venkateshwarlu.

Gorakhpur: Shashwat Tripurari becomes new CDO
Prayagraj: Harshika Singh appointed CDO
Meerut Development Authority: Sanjay Kumar Meena, transferred from Gorakhpur
Shravasti: Shahid Ahmed appointed CDO

New postings in Chief Minister's Office and Health Department

Vishal Bhardwaj (former DM, Kushinagar) - Special Secretary to Chief Minister
Navneet Singh Chahal (former DM, Azamgarh) - Special Secretary in Chief Minister's Office
Aryaka Akhouri (former DM, Ghazipur) - Special Secretary of Health Department
